Products

The company offers products in a range of categories. These products include: microprocessors with one, two, or four processor cores, designed for desktops, workstations, servers, notebooks, embedded products, communications products, and consumer electronics; chipsets designed for desktops, workstations, servers, notebooks, embedded products, communications products, and consumer electronics; motherboard products designed for desktop, workstation, and server platforms; NAND flash memory products primarily used in digital audio players, memory cards, and system-level applications, such as solid-state drives; NOR flash memory products; wired and wireless Internet connectivity products, including network adapters and embedded wireless cards to translate and transmit data in packets across networks; other communications infrastructure products—including network processors, communications boards, and optical transponders—that are basic building blocks for modular communications platforms; networked storage products that allow storage resources to be added to either of the two most prevalent types of networking technology: Ethernet or Fibre Channel; and software products and services that help enable and advance the computing ecosystem.

Digital Enterprise Group

The Digital Enterprise Group (DEG)’s products are incorporated into desktop computers, enterprise computing servers, workstations, a range of embedded applications, and other products. DEG’s products include microprocessors and related chipsets and motherboards designed for the desktop and enterprise computing market segments; microprocessors, chipsets, and other components for communications infrastructure equipment, such as network processors, communications boards, and embedded processors; wired connectivity devices; and products for network and server storage.

Desktop Market Segment

The company's desktop microprocessor offerings include the: Intel Core2 Quad processor, Intel Celeron Dual-Core processor, Intel Core2 Duo processor, Intel Celeron processor, Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor.

The company's new product offerings in 2007 and early 2008 include: Intel Core 2 Quad processors designed for processor-intensive tasks in demanding multitasking environments; Intel 3 Series Chipsets designed to be used with Intel Core microarchitecture-based processors, including 45nm products; Intel Core 2 processors with vPro technology, which includes Intel Trusted Execution Technology, designed to help protect business PCs and data within virtualized computing environments against hacking, viruses, and other threats; and Intel Core 2 Quad processors and Intel Core 2 Duo processors designed for mainstream desktop PCs and manufactured.

Enterprise Market Segment

The company's server and workstation microprocessor offerings include the: Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor, Dual-Core Intel Xeon processor, and Dual-Core Intel Itanium processor. The company's Intel Xeon processor family of products supports a range of entry-level to high-end technical and commercial computing applications, and is based on the Intel Core microarchitecture. The company also offers platforms that are optimized for use in the enterprise market segment, which includes entry-level to high-end servers and workstations.

The company's new product offerings in 2007 and early 2008 include: Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors designed for single-socket servers, dual-processor (DP) servers, and multi-processor (MP) servers; low-voltage versions of the Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor designed for DP and MP servers; four-processor server platform based on its processors for MP servers; Intel Itanium processors, including both dual- and single-core versions, designed for high-end applications; Quad-core and dual-core Intel Xeon processors; and Modular server building blocks based on Intel Multi-Flex Technology.

Communications Infrastructure Products

In 2007, the company introduced the Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor 5300 series for the embedded computing segment. In addition, the company announced the Intel IP Network Server NSC2U, powered by two 5300 series processors. The server includes the Intel 5000P chipset and features a rugged chassis and compact form factor.

Networked Storage Products

In 2007, the company introduced the Intel Storage Server SSR212MC2. Designed for small- and mid-size businesses, this storage server is powered by either the Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor 5300 series or the Dual-Core Intel Xeon processor 5100 series.

Mobility Group

The Mobility Group’s products include microprocessors and related chipsets designed for the notebook market segment, wireless connectivity products, and energy-efficient products designed for the ultra-mobile market segment. It also offers Intel Centrino processor technologies based on microprocessors, chipsets, and wireless network connections.

The company's mobile microprocessor offerings include the Intel Core2 Extreme mobile processor, Intel Core2 Solo mobile processor, Intel Core2 Duo mobile processor, Intel Celeron M processor, Intel Pentium Dual-Core mobile processor, and Intel Celeron processor.

The company's new product offerings in 2007 and early 2008 include: Intel Centrino processor technology and Intel Centrino with vPro technology, based on the Intel Core 2 Duo processor; Intel Core 2 Extreme dual-core mobile processors, including a version manufactured using 45nm process technology; The Intel Ultra Mobile Platform 2007, which includes a low-power processor, a chipset, and a controller hub; and Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processors manufactured using 45nm process technology, including video and graphics capabilities, as well as a battery-saving Deep Power Down Technology.

NAND Products Group

The company offers NAND flash memory products primarily used in digital audio players, memory cards, and system-level applications, such as solid-state drives. Additionally, the company offers multi-level cell NAND flash memory products, which enable storage of multiple bits of data within a single cell. The company's NAND flash memory products are manufactured by IM Flash Technologies, LLC (IMFT) using 50nm or 72nm process technology.

The company's new product offerings in 2007 and early 2008 include: The Intel Z-U130 Value Solid-State Drive, designed for storage in computing systems and embedded applications; and The Intel Z-P140 Solid-State Drive, designed for storage in MIDs and digital entertainment and embedded products.

Flash Memory Group

The company offers NOR flash memory products.

Digital Home Group

The Digital Home Group offers products for use in PCs and in-home consumer electronics devices designed to access and share Internet, broadcast, optical media, and personal content through linked digital devices within the home. In addition, the company offers components for high-end enthusiast PCs, mainstream PCs with audio and video capabilities, and consumer electronics devices, such as digital TVs, high-definition media players, and set-top boxes.

The company offers the Intel Core2 processor with Viiv technology, which is designed to make it easier for users to download, manage, and share the growing amount of digital programming available worldwide, and view that programming on a choice of TVs, PCs, or handheld products. Intel Core 2 processors with Viiv technology include a microprocessor, a chipset, a network connectivity device, and enabling software—all optimized to work together in the digital home environment.

The company's digital home microprocessor offerings also include the Intel Core2 Extreme dual-core processor, and the Intel Core2 Extreme quad-core processor.

The company's new product offerings in 2007 and early 2008 include: Intel Core 2 Extreme quad-core processors designed for gamers, digital design professionals, and PC enthusiasts; The Intel CE 2110 Media Processor, which combines an Intel XScale processor core, hardware video decoders, DDR memory interface, and 2D/3D graphics accelerators on a single chip.

Significant Events

China Digital TV Holding Co., Ltd. has announced a collaboration with Intel Corp. for the mutual development of advanced digital television products. Under the terms of the agreement, China Digital TV and Intel Corporation would cooperate to enable China Digital TV's CA solution to use the Intel CE 2110 Media Processor.

Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. announced that the company has entered into collaboration with Intel Corp. to develop highly integrated power-management and multimedia solutions for Intel-based Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs). Maxim would provide mixed-signal ICs that enable longer battery life and a multimedia experience for consumers.

Absolute Software Corporation announced a collaboration with Intel Corp. Absolute's Computrace software would be integrated to support Intel anti-theft technology later this year. The software would be available for some notebooks based on Intel Centrino processor technology. The program is capable of remotely deleting data and physically recovering lost or stolen computers, assisting customers in complying with data privacy regulations.

Intel Corporation and LSI Corporation have a strategic multi-generation agreement to redefine how advanced RAID data protection is deployed on future Intel Xeon-based server and workstation platforms. This technical collaboration brings together Intel's next-generation RAID technology, codenamed Treemont, and LSI MegaRAID software to deliver a level of RAID value.

Grid Net announced key collaborations with GE Energy and Intel Corp. focused on providing Smart Grid solutions. Grid Net has been working with the companies to architect and produce open, Smart Grid products and services for utilities.

The company and Cray, Inc. signed a multi-year agreement to advance high-performance computing (HPC) on Intel microprocessors while delivering new Intel and Cray technologies in future Cray server systems.

The company and Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. formed an alliance, in May 2008, to deliver server adapters for data center networks. Brocade would provide its storage networking software technology and know-how, along with Intel's 10 Gigabit Enhanced Ethernet server adapter hardware, to deliver Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) server connectivity.

Ozmo Devices is collaborating with Intel Corp. to enable low-power devices to operate with Intel's Wi-Fi Personal Area Network (Wi-Fi PAN) technology.

Lenovo Group, Ltd. has formed an alliance with Intel Corporation and Alibaba.com Limited to provide personal computers for the SME sector. Alibaba would embed its e-commerce platform into the PCs, while Intel would provide support on internet security and services based on its chip platform.

McAfee, Inc. has partnerships with Hewlett-Packard Company, Intel Corporation, and VMware, Inc. to deliver best-in-class security for networking products, PCs, and virtualization platforms. Security products would be combined with HP ProCurve's networking product portfolio to simplify networking and security from the edge to the network core. The company has also joined the HP ProCurve Alliance to enable open-standards networking solutions certified for interoperability.

On October 28, 2008, International Business Machines Corp. and Intel Corporation announced they are extending their collaboration in the blade server market to drive adoption of an open industry specification for blade switches. The companies stated that this would enable switch vendors to maximize return on their research and development by developing products to a single design, reaching more customers with one product.

Asure Software, Inc. has its collaboration with Intel Corporation and SpikeSource, Inc. and its certification in the Intel Certified Solutions Program. The Intel Certified Solutions Program, utilizes the SpikeSource Solutions Factory, a proven automated platform for assembling, testing, packaging, and updating software solutions that provides significant business value and benefit for members of the Intel Software Partner Program.

LM Ericsson Telephone Co. is collaborating with Intel to ensure that Ericsson's Mobile Broadband Modules are interoperable with Intel Anti-Theft PC Protection Technology for notebooks to offer an anti-theft solution for mobile broadband users.

On May 27, 2009, Intel Corporation and ChileCompra have signed a collaboration agreement to work together in several areas related to IT and communications. The agreement's main areas of focus would be the creation of investment programs to boost broadband, ICT in the education and SME segments, e-government, energy efficiency programs and telecommuting.

Strategic Alliances

Intel Corp. announced establishment of Mobile Computing Technology Research Center with Tsinghua University. The High-Tech Development and Industrialization Department of Intel's Science and Technology Department signed a memorandum with Tsinghua University in Beijing on June 23, 2008.

The company and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. have formed a strategic alliance aimed at revolutionizing 3-D filmmaking technology, beginning with Monsters vs.

Intel Corp. and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc., in July 2008, have formed a strategic alliance to create 3-D computer graphics animated movies together. Intel would supply high-performance processing technologies, including future chips with multiple processing cores, and would provide software engineers to help to optimize application potential for DreamWorks. DreamWorks would produce all of its feature films in 3-D beginning and would convert to an Intel-based processing system.

Socialtext Incorporated announced its collaboration with Intel Corporation and SpikeSource, Inc. and its participation in the Intel Certified Solutions Program. The Intel Certified Solutions Program, provided by SpikeSource, allows Socialtext to certify its solution for specific Intel technologies.

Red Hat, Inc. announced collaboration with Intel Corporation and The City University of New York to form the New York City Open Source Solutions Lab at the CUNY Institute for Software Design and Development. The facility would be a center in which New York-based government IT professionals can test open source software solutions based on Intel architecture. The Open Source Solutions Lab, based at the CUNY Graduate Center, houses hardware provided by Intel Corporation and Red Hat Enterprise Linux software donated by Red Hat.

IBM BladeCenter and Intel Corporation, in October 2008, announced they are extending their collaboration in the blade server market to drive adoption of an open industry specification for blade switches.

International Business Machines Corp. and Intel Corporation, in November 2008, announced a joint collaboration with the opening of their High Performance Computing Competency Centre at IBM's Dubai Internet City building.

Intel Corporation and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. announced a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on addressing technology platform, intellectual property (IP) infrastructure, and System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions.

Intel Corporation (INTC) and General Electric Co. (GE) entered into a new partnership to make home-based health care products aimed at the elderly and patients with chronic conditions.

The company has entered a joint venture with King Abdul Aziz City of Science and Technology (KACST) to set up the Center of Excellence in Nano-manufacturing applications.

Customers

The company sells its products primarily to original equipment manufacturers and original design manufacturers. TCL Corporation and Intel Corporation have signed a contract to develop IPTV and jointly promote the integration of internet and TV to bring a comprehensive television experience to domestic consumers in China. Intel introduced Intel consumer electronics cooperation program and Intel media processor CE 3100 which is an Intel architecture-based SOC product.

Intel Corporation and Alcatel-Lucent announced WiMAX Ensure, a joint end-to-end interoperability testing (IOT) program for the WiMAX Rev-e standard (802.16e-2005) that would establish common, commercially validated, global profiles for data-centric mobile WiMAX devices.
